Guy Salvesen - Vice Chair, The Americas

Guy Salvesen obtained his PhD in 1981 with Alan Barrett at the University of Cambridge. After post-doctoral work at Cambridge and the University of Georgia, he took up a faculty position at Duke University.
In 1996 he moved his laboratory to the Sanford-Burnham Institute in San Diego, where he is Director of the Program in Cell Death and Apoptosis Research. His research is focused on the regulation of proteolytic pathways in healthy and abnormal cells.
